RETURNING FAULTY ITEMS

Our returns and refund policies do not limit other rights and remedies you may have under law such as the Australian Consumer Law, including in respect of faulty items. If you need to return a faulty item, please contact us for assistance.

FAULTY ITEMS AND AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

You must inspect delivered items immediately. If an item purchased from HIOD IT Pty Ltd is faulty, any related return and refund rights we offer you will apply in addition to, and do not limit, other rights and remedies you may have under law, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

If you identify a faulty item:

  • within the relevant return window for that item, you can return the item to us via Australia Post Tracking or in person at 7 Century Drive Braeside; or
  • outside the return window for that item please contact us.

Please notify us in writing of faulty items by contacting us within 7 days from receipt of delivery otherwise we may refuse any claim you make.

To be eligible for a return, items must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. To avoid further damage during the return shipping process, items must be packed appropriately. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Factors such as age, price, the item’s condition and the disclosures made about the item may be relevant to your return and refund rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The Australian Consumer Law also applies to used and refurbished items.

CUSTOMER DAMAGE

HIOD IT Pty Ltd is not required to accept any returned item that, as a result of customer negligence, misuse or tampering is, damaged, missing parts or in unsellable condition.

ELECTRONICS

HIOD IT Pty Ltd will provide you with a replacement or a full refund of the purchase price of an electronic item if the item:

  • didn’t start when it arrived; or
  • arrived in damaged condition,

and you return the item to us within 7 days from receipt of delivery.

HIOD IT Pty Ltd may test items that are returned because they did not start when they arrived and this may result in the customer being charged a testing fee equal to 15 percent of the item purchase price if the customer misrepresents the condition of the item.

For returns of faulty electronic items after 7 days from receipt of delivery, please contact us as you may still be entitled to a remedy.

EXCEPTIONS / NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalized items). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

RETURN PROCESS

To start a return, you can contact us at contactus@hiodit.com.au. If your return is accepted we’ll send instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded or credited on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
